## What affects the size of the pension?

A simplified pension consists of two main parts:

- Permanent, which is appointed regardless of salary, length of service and other conditions. The fixed part is formed from 6% of insurance contributions from wages and is paid to all recipients of labor pensions. Its size is established by law and is indexed annually. In 2020, the PV is 4,982.90 rubles; from January 1, 2020, it will be increased by 7.05% to 5,334 rubles. 19 kopecks
- The variable part, which is of a calculated nature. In a simplified form, it looks like the product of accumulated pension points and their value. And in this case, not everything depends on the pensioner - the cost of the IPF is fixed, that is, established at the federal level. In 2020, this figure is 81.49 rubles, in 2020 it will be increased to 87.24 points.

It turns out that the only indicator affecting the size of the pension that a future pensioner can influence is the value of the individual pension coefficient.

But there are limitations here too:

- The maximum value of the annual individual pension coefficient in 2020 is 8.7 points, in 2020 – 9.13. From 2021 it will be equal to 10 points.
- The minimum IPB amount for assigning a pension in 2020 is 13.8 points. In 2020 it will increase to 16.2 points. From 2025 it will be 30 points.
- The minimum insurance period for granting a pension in 2020 is 9 years, in 2020 – 10 years. From 2024, you must earn 15 years of experience.
- The maximum contribution base is RUB 1,021,000.

It turns out that the two main factors influencing the size of the pension are the level of wages and the insurance period. Therefore, it will not be possible to find out how much you need to earn to receive a pension of 20,000 rubles without taking into account your length of service.

Rice. 1. Paying in an envelope today reduces pension benefits in the future.

In addition, the pensioner can be paid extra if there are dependents, or the calculated and fixed component is increased by a regional or motivating coefficient.

## Situation No. 1. Minimum wage

Agree, the situation when employees receive an official salary in an amount equal to the minimum wage is by no means uncommon. Paying less is a violation of the Labor Code.
